It's Been Great!

I wanted to let my students from this last year know that I am going to be a new P.E. teacher in the Puyallup School District. I will be at Waller Road, Pope, and Brouillet Elementary's this year. This has always been a passion for me and I finally get to do it. Thank you for all the great times that we had this last year at Hunt. Good luck in the future and I know you all will succeed!

Thank you!

Thank you for a great year this year! I hope each one of you have success in junior high and in the future. I think I will always remember this group because it was my first year at Hunt. I want to thank both classes for raising money to buy me a Wii. My family will enjoy playing that this summer.

Stop by next year and let me know how junior high is going! Enjoy your summer!

Thank You!

It was my birthday yesterday and my class and my reading class (Ms. Berghuis's class) made it a great day for me. I came to school and walked in my room to see a big Happy Birthday poster on the wall. Furthermore, I got a card from every student, a white chocolate mocha, some cookies, and the birthday song sang to me in five different ways (Russian, Japanese, Thailand (Thai), Spanish, and Sign Language).

Mrs. Hendrix, Taylor's mom brought the class and I cupcakes at lunch with a balloon attached. It was an exciting day for me as I grow older and wiser (so I think or am telling myself). This year is coming to an end soon and it just shows me how special this class has been to me this year. I will never forget my first class at Hunt Elementary!

WASL Success!

We finished the WASL today. I thought the students did a great job. After each test, I asked the students if they thought that the test was easy, medium, or hard. Most said that they thought it was easy and some said medium but never hard. I think that is a good sign. I also asked if any thought they got a perfect score with none wrong, and some actually said that they thought they didn't get any wrong. I wouldn't doubt it with this class. I am excited to see their scores next year.

6th grade camp is coming soon. May 6th- 9th at Miracle Ranch. We have been preparing pre-camp lessons to get ready for it. I think the students are very excited to go to camp. It's really fun to see how some students that are shy, really shine at camp.

I am really enjoying this class this year. We have fun in the classroom but also work very hard!

The Cay

We read a wonderful novel this week before our four day winter break. It was called The Cay. It seemed like everyone really liked it. Retell the story to someone!

The 6th grade teachers went to a camp meeting last night. Remember that the total is $225 this year for four days. We are going to have a parent meeting sometime in March. The camp that we are going to this year is Miracle Ranch from May 6th - May 9th.

Make sure that you are taking AR tests after you read a book. Grades are due for the 2nd trimester in March and I am measuring the goal setting section based on how many points each student has received. Each student told me their point goal for the 2nd trimester.

Remember that country reports are due Monday, February 25th.

Enjoy this little break that we are having this weekend!
